About the Championship
This championship provides a focal point for Targa and Historic road rallies in Scotland.
Targa rallies for modern cars have become increasingly popular in recent years. Historic road rallies are for pre-1991 cars. Cars must be road legal but usually require minimal alterations or special equipment.
These events can be great fun and mainly comprise a series of tests on private land against the clock demanding skilled and precision driving. Some rallies also include regularity sections during which crews must follow a set route to a very precise time schedule. Some events take place wholly at a single venue, others at multiple locations linked by timed sections on public roads.
