The second round of the RALLYSCORE Scottish Autotest Championship was run by Stonehaven and District Motor Club on 11 June 2023 at their new venue.
Situated just off the Aberdeen bypass this allows easy access to this great venue, the abrasive surface did however take its toll on a few tyres.
There was a good entry of 14 cars – 10 for the Autotest and 4 for the PCA and there were 6 father / son entries in the Autotest.
James Morrison took FTD in his Mini Special with Bryan Morrison in the Ka Special being his nearest rival. In the saloon car class William Orr drove very well all day and despite drive train problems he still finished 3rd overall.
Martin Gillespie was the highest placed MX5 in 4th, finishing just 1.2 seconds in front of Connor Black in his Ka. In all of the family rivalry the sons emerged victorious, it is great to see the younger generation out competing.
In the PCA event Thomas Purvin took FTD in the 1000cc Micra, from the triple entered MX5 which eventually ran out of tyres.
