Congratulations to Scotland’s 2025 Motorsport UK Award Winners

Motorsport UK Awards

The Scottish Association of Motor Sports Clubs extends its warmest congratulations to all those from Scotland recognised in the 2025 Motorsport UK Awards.

As the Regional Association for Motorsport UK in Scotland, we are immensely proud to see so many Scottish clubs and volunteers acknowledged by the governing body for their commitment, professionalism and service to our sport.

Lothian Car Club took the Runner Up award for Club of the Year. The Club is a shining example of community engagement, volunteer development and opportunity across Scotland, and this recognition reflects the huge amount of work carried out by its members.

We also congratulate Colin Harkness on being named Volunteer of the Year. Colin’s contribution across Scottish rallying, from clerking and stewardship to safety and event leadership, exemplifies the dedication that underpins motorsport at every level.

Recognition also goes to James Stronach as Runner Up, whose enthusiasm, leadership and compassion continue to inspire volunteers across multiple disciplines.

It is especially fitting to see long service awards presented to individuals whose involvement spans decades. Douglas Lamb, Roger Anderson and Kate Haston represent the very best of Scottish motorsport volunteering, with lifetimes of service given freely to clubs, events and competitors across the UK and beyond. Their stories highlight the depth of experience, friendship and commitment that sustain our sport.

“Motorsport in Scotland is built on the dedication of its volunteers, officials and clubs. Behind every event are countless hours given by passionate people who care deeply about the sport and the communities it serves. These awards shine a light on that commitment, passion and teamwork. On behalf of SAMSC, thank you and congratulations to everyone recognised, you truly do Scotland proud.”
