Russell is one of our delegates on Motorsport UK's Regional Committee.
His motorsport career started in the 1980s with navigating in 12 car rallies before getting more serious and successful when moving into the forests in the 1990s, mostly in the Scottish and British championships. In the early 2000s he also competed as a driver in sprints and hill climbs – with limited success. More recently, he has focused on organizing events (stage rallies and sprints at InterClub and Mational levels) fulfilling the roles of Event Secretary and Safety Officer as well as supporting other clubs as a radio and timing marshal and Event Steward. Russell is currently the chairman of East Ayrshire Car Club.
