BVAC Classic Festival of Motoring

Set in the beautiful grounds of Thirlestane Castle, in the Scottish Borders, the BVAC Classic is the premier classic car show for all the family, in Scotland.

It combines over 1,000 wonderful classic and vintage cars, with fabulous Scottish food, drink, retail and displays, making it a wonderful day out for the whole family.

Now in its 48th year, the event – proudly organised by the Borders Vintage Automobile Club – has grown from strength to strength, gaining recognition from The Sunday Times as ‘One of the top ten motoring events in the UK’.

In 2023, the event will take place on Sunday 18^th June, which also happens to be Father’s Day! It will once again feature some of the finest veteran, vintage and classic cars from across the country, as well as kid’s activities, live rally action, stunt displays, a retail village and of course, plenty of lovely food and drink stops to keep you fuelled throughout the day!

New for 2023, will be the introduction of a Hill Rally stage within the event, meaning visitors will be treated to the sights and sound of live motorsport action.

The BVAC Classic will play host to the a special stage of the Scottish Summer Hill Rally; a spectator area will enable visitors to see the rally cars setting off in dramatic style and power sliding their way down the estate’s gravel stage.

The event’s rally service park will also be based within the BVAC Classic Showground at Thirlestane Castle; this is the home for teams and crews competing in the rally and is where the cars are serviced (and sometimes repaired!) in-between stages, meaning visitors to the BVAC Classic will be able to get up close to some of these impressive machines.
