SUMMARY:Scottish Mini Cooper Cup / Scottish R53 Mini Cooper S Cup
DESCRIPTION:The Scottish Mini Cooper Cup is recognised as one of the best single-make racing series in the UK. It has been a proving ground for many top drivers including British Touring Car Championship stars Rory Butcher\, Aiden Moffat and Chris Smiley. \nClose\, hard and competitive racing is guaranteed in this championship\, which provides an ideal stepping stone for drivers looking to move up the motorsport ladder. \nOnly the 1.6 Mini Cooper model built between 2001-2006 are eligible. The championship regulations are designed to ensure that cars are built to the same specification; the cars use identical Yokohama tyres and run the same ECU. This puts more emphasis on a driver’s skill by keeping the cars performance as equal as possible. \n\nThe R53 Mini Cooper S Cup is the fastest single make saloon car class at Scottish Championship race meetings. Full slick and wet tyre options\, a 1.6 litre super charged power unit and three way adjustable suspension provides drivers with a touring car experience\, at a fraction of the budget. \nThe class launched in 2017 and has quickly gathered momentum with former Scottish and British Champions returning to race these cars around the undulating Knockhill Racing Circuit. \nThe speed and handling characteristics of these cars favour slightly more experienced drivers but with some coaching\, an eager newcomer could also enjoy this championship. The ability to choose between slick and wet tyres – to suit the weather conditions – plus the choice of suspension settings provides mechanics and drivers with more of a set up challenge than the other Scottish single make series. This adds another dimension to this championship which rewards well rounded drivers. \nThe ethos around this series is to help develop any aspiring touring car driver\, who want to progress his/her skills further in what is a very quick and capable racing car. The ability to run this spec car at other race circuits and series around the UK – such as British Mini Challenge – provides drivers with the chance to easily compete in other series and learn new circuits as well. \nShare this:

SUMMARY:Scottish Fiesta ST Championship
DESCRIPTION:Fiesta racing has been a mainstay of Scottish Motor Racing for over 20 years\, initially with the XR2 model – which is still raced in our Classics Sports and Saloons Championship – and more recently with the Fiesta ST model. \nThe championship continues to offer incredibly close and hard racing at an affordable price point. The Fiesta ST race cars are powered by the standard but punchy 2 litre Duratec power unit which is found in the road going car. They run on the super grippy Toyo Proxes R888R tyre and are equipped with ABS brakes and 3-way adjustable dampers. This makes for a responsive but forgiving driving experience that inspires confidence in the driver to push further and further towards the limit. \nFor this reason\, the championship attracts both seasoned veterans and newcomers alike. In the past\, the Fiesta class has helped to launch the careers of some of Scotland’s top racing drivers (notably triple British Touring Car Champion\, Gordon Shedden\, started his motor racing career in the Fiesta championship) and today the championship still offers drivers a great apprenticeship in race craft and car control. \nShare this:

SUMMARY:Scottish Classic Sports and Saloon Championship\, Scottish Fiesta ST Championship
DESCRIPTION:Always a crowd pleaser\, the Scottish Classic Sports and Saloon Championship brings some nostalgia to the Scottish Championship. In many cases this championship offers drivers the opportunity to race the cars that they grew up watching and envying\, but it also provides an avenue for anyone – who enjoys a passion for classic cars – to get out on track and enjoy the sheer pleasure of hustling iconic cars of yesteryear around the undulating Knockhill racing circuit. \nBoth mass production-based cars and limited production cars can take part. The championship boasts 6 different classes which are mainly for cars manufactured up until 31st December 1989.  Additionally there is a seperate class for Ford Fiesta XR2 cars racing alongside the main championship cars and battling for the title of XR2 Champion. \n\nFiesta racing has been a mainstay of Scottish Motor Racing for over 20 years\, initially with the XR2 model – which is still raced in our Classics Sports and Saloons Championship – and more recently with the Fiesta ST model. \nThe championship continues to offer incredibly close and hard racing at an affordable price point. The Fiesta ST race cars are powered by the standard but punchy 2 litre Duratec power unit which is found in the road going car.

SUMMARY:Scottish C1 Cup
DESCRIPTION:This championship represents an opportunity for you to own your own racing car\, become a racing driver and compete for a full season at Scotland’s premier racing circuit\, Knockhill\, for less than £6\,500! \nTo keep the racing exciting and the costs under control\, the Citroen C1 Cup cars run to very simple but tight regulations. The race cars are almost literally a C1 road car with a roll cage bolted in\, meaning that you can build a car – from start to finish – over the course of a weekend\, if you’re in a rush. \nThe C1’s 1 litre power unit may not make them the fastest race cars on a Scottish Championship race weekend but we guarantee that racing door handle to door handle around the humps and bumps of Knockhill racing circuit will bring a smile to any racers face – whether you’re a seasoned campaigner or a complete newcomer. \nAlongside the battle for the outright championship\, there is also a Newcomers Cup for anyone who has not held a Motorsport UK competition licence before. \nAdditionally\, if you’re feeling ambitious\, there are C1 Cup endurance races held throughout the UK and even at Spa-Francorchamps\, where a 24 hour race is run annually. \nShare this:

SUMMARY:Scottish R53 Mini Cooper S Cup\, Scottish Mini Cooper Cup\, Scottish Classic Sports and Saloon Championship\, Scottish Fiesta ST Championship\, Scottish C1 Cup
